Jason and deMarco to play Franklin Cirle church

by Rev. Allen Harris

Cleveland-Nationally known recording artists Jason and deMarco will be in concert at Franklin Circle Christian Church on Cleveland's Near West Side on Sunday, September 27 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person general admission, available in advance at the church or by mail and at the door. There is ample parking available. The

church is located at 1688 Fulton Rd. near W. 28th and Franklin Blvd.

The Dallas Voice says, "Jason & deMarco have developed a beautiful and highly unusual duet technique.” DNA magazine declares, "The duo aims to mix a spiritual message with a strong mainstream aesthetic and their symbiotic approach is definitely working."

Their award-winning Showtime docu-

mentary film We're All Angels gives an indepth look at this couple who are both professional and romantic partners. On stage and in the movie they confront their audiences with compelling issues such as spirituality and its relationship to sexuality, the power of music, obligations to community, self-acceptance, and the resistance of many within the Christian community to their love for each other.

Emmaus Catholic retreat marks tenth year

by Gregory Eastridge

Cleveland-In the biblical story of "The Road to Emmaus," Jesus, shortly after His resurrection, joins two of His disciples as they walk the road to Emmaus; although the disciples do not recognize Jesus.

The disciples tell Jesus of the recent events and the story of those who found the empty tomb. Jesus interprets scripture to them, but it was only through sharing a meal with Jesus that the disciples recognize Him. At that very moment, Jesus disappeared.

The disciples were overjoyed and spread the good news of the resurrection.

This year's theme, "Our Tenth Anniversary: Return to Emmaus," revisits the theme of our first retreat. The tenth anniversary retreat will be held September 25-27 at the Jesuit Retreat House, 5629 State Road in Parma, just south of the I-480 State Road exit.

The Emmaus retreat is open to LGBT Catholics, parents of LGBT Catholics, and anyone seeking a truly spiritual and uplifting weekend.
